Big Brother - Configuration
The Big Brother configuration files reside in the $BBHOME/etc (UNIX/Linux), or,%BBHOME%\etc (Windows) directory. The tables below list the configuration files for the BB management server and BB client respectively.
BB Server configuration files:
| bb-hosts | The bb-hosts file is where you add every device you want to monitor. |
| bb-bbexttab | Defines the external scripts (plug-ins) to execute on a local system. |
| bbchkcfg.sh | Program to check whether variables are set correctly for you Big Brother installation. |
| bbchkhosts.sh | Program to check whether your bb-hosts file is correctly formatted. |
| bbdef.sh | Contains important settings used by Big Brother. |
| bbdef-server.sh | Contains important settings used by the Big Brother server. |
| bbinc.sh | Contains version information and the paths to various directories Big Brother uses. This script sets up the internal environment variables Big Brother needs to run. Be very careful if you decide to mess around in here. |

| bbsys.local | Contains local system overrides for some command line locations, should they differ from the default. |
| bbsys.sh | Sets variables containing the full pathnames of most of the commands Big Brother needs to use. |
| bbwarnrules.cfg | Rules and recipients for Big Brother notifications. |
| bbwarnsetup.cfg | Configuration options for notification. |
| numeric-k6.scr | Alternate script to use for Kermit version 6 numeric paging. |
| numeric.scr | Script to use for Kermit paging, mostly for pre-version 6. |
| security | Used to control who can send messages to your bbd process. |
